We have started the planning process for the 2009 festival! Due to the fact that August has five weeks in a month this year, we'ved decided to host our festival on the 21st-23rd of August. Meetings will be held at City Hall on May 20th, June 10th, June 24th and July 8th starting at 6:30 PM.

BEER TENT & LIVE MUSIC -Come enjoy your favorite beverage and live music on both Friday and Saturday evening. We have booked Jonah & The Whales for Friday evening, and the Tim Sigler Band for Saturday night! We are offering classic rock and country music this year, and we hope to see ya'll at the party. This year we are instituting a $5 cover charge to see Jonah and the Whales and the Tim Sigler Band. Come enjoy a cold beer and listen to some great music after taking the kiddos to the carnival.

PIG ROAST SPONSORED BY DEHMER'S- On Sunday evening from 3-6pm Dehmer's Meat Market is sponsoring a community Pig Roast! All proceeds from the Community Pig Roast will be given to the Hanover Food Shelf and we also ask that you bring a non-perishable food item. Come and enjoy living high off the hog and help a local non-profit organization give back to our community!

BINGO - The St. Michael Senior Center is hosting B-I-N-G-O! Games will be played at the staging area on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Come play the greatest game of chance and win! Bingo will take place from 12pm-3pm!

BUSINESS EXPO - Local businesses present what they have to offer the surrounding community. This year the Expo tent will be 140 x 40 feet and electricity will be available to those businesses in need of it. We are offering the expo on both Saturday and Sunday this year. Come out to see what our local businesses have to offer or be a part of the expo and showcase your business! We had an excellent expo last year, and this year it will be even better!

CARNIVAL - Come one, come all to the St. Michael Daze & Knights Carnival! This event is sure to please adults and children alike. Fantastic rides and games will be available to entertain all ages! The carnival will start Friday at 4pm -11pm. It will run all day Saturday and from noon to 6PM on Sunday. ADVANCED TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED!!! We will announce where they can be purchased closer to the festival.

KIDDIE PARADE - The St. Michael Daze & Knights Committee will be hosting a Kiddie Parade for kids ages 0-12 years old. The theme is bikes, trikes and wagons. Have the kiddos get dressed up and decorate their wheels for everyone to see. This event will be held in the Central Bank Parking lot at 11am. No need to register, just show up with your "float" to be in the parade. All participants will recieve a gift but the Top 3 winners will be awarded a prize!

CLASSIC CAR SHOW - Local car fanatics showcase their classic cars for awards and spectator appreciation. Come see some beautiful rides and the proud owners that work so hard to keep these classics in mint condition!

CRAFT FAIR - Crafters from all over come to sell their unique hand crafted items.

GARAGE SALES - City wide garage sales will be held starting Wednesday, August 19, 2009. The registration deadline to be listed on the website and in the Crow River News is July 30, 2009.

LIVE MUSIC On Friday evening the festival will kick off with Jonah and the Whales and Saturday evening will feature the Tim Sigler Band. Whether you like classic rock n roll or country, come out and enjoy these great bands! There will be a $5 cover charge.

TEEN EVENT - TBD. Stay tuned! We have some great ideas this year!

INLINE HALF MARATHON - Once again, our Inline ½ Marathon will be along the beautiful and scenic Lander Avenue NE (CR-146) starting at St. Michael's City Hall and hitting the turn-around point in Hanover; the route will be skated twice to get the full 13.1 miles in for the half marathon. This is a great opportunity to get some exercise and we welcome both novice and serious skaters to participate! The half marathon will begin at 7:30 AM and T-shirts will be available for participants.  For more information, please click here.

MEDALLION HUNT - Great Northern Bank is working in conjunction with the festival again this year! They are a Titanium level sponsor and have decided to host the Medallion Hunt during the St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival. Watch for clues and solve them to win the grand prize!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST - The Good News Alliance Church will be hosting a pancake breakfast at the bandstand tent on Saturday from 8am -11am. Free will donations will be accepted to help with the new expansion at the church! Please join us for a fantastic breakfast, everyone is welcome!

PARADE - The St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival Parade will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 11 AM - 12:30 PM. We look forward to many different groups participating this year. Come watch all the fantastic floats, and fill your bags with candy!

SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT - Northwest Bible Church will be hosting a Men's Softball Tournament for level D & E players. Games will start Friday evening, and run throughout Saturday. Umpires will be from the USSSA. The tournament will be located at the St. Michael Recreation Center next to City Hall. It will be an open to any team that registers and will be a double elimination tournament with a guaranteed third consolation game. The cost will be $125 per team and all proceeds will go to benefit the FYCC. The winners will all receive individual T-shirts. Please download the registration form to enter.

FYCC DUNK TANK - Come and show off your throwing arm and dunk a few local celebrities! The event takes place at 1:00pm.

SHELTERED REALITY - Sheltered Reality is dedicated to helping youth reach their full potential. Youth members in SR use music and educations as a way to reach out to audiences and motivate them to advocate for those in need. They especially focus on children and families. The educational message presented focuses on facts, statistics and real life stories. Using percussion instruments, these talented youngsters inspire through music and help form a bond between members that will last a lifetime. Check out the show at 5pm!
